Wei Lung’s practice areas are predominantly in banking & finance, capital markets, corporate, mergers & acquisitions and real estate.

Experience and Credentials

Wei Lung has handled significant legal transactions in capital markets, corporate banking, corporate finance, corporate and debt restructuring schemes, initial public offers, take-overs, reverse take-overs, back-door listings, mergers and acquisitions, real property, retail lending and generally, in various areas of commercial and corporate law as well as finance and property law. He also advises on employment and industrial relations laws.

 

His expertise is recognised in several independent international publications. He has presented many public lectures on various areas of law and legal practice, and writes for various legal publishers and the College of Law of Australia. He is an adjunct lecturer of the College of Law’s Master of Laws programs, as well as a lecturer and tutor of the Veritas University College of Malaysia’s Master of Arts in Law and Master of Corporate Law and Governance.

 

In addition to his legal work, he administers several aspects of the firm’s practice. He also regularly acts a mentor to the young lawyers and pupils of the Firm.

 

Wei Lung has been recognised as a Leading Lawyer in the field of Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions by Asialaw.

Qualifications 

Wei Lung graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia in 1988 with an Honours degree in Law. He was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1988 after the completion of his practical training at the College of Law in Sydney, Australia.

 

Wei Lung was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1989. Since then, he has been in active and continuous legal practice, commencing with litigation work for a decade. He joined Cheang & Ariff as a Partner since 2000.
